Student of the Year is an upcoming Indian romantic comedy film directed by Karan Johar, starring newcomers Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra and in the lead roles.
It also features Sana Saeed, Rishi Kapoor and Ronit Roy in supporting roles.
The film is produced by Karan Johar and Shahrukh Khan under the banners of Dharma Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment respectively and is set to be released on 19 October 2012.
It marks Johar's first directorial venture without Khan in the lead role. The soundtrack for the film will be composed by Vishal Shekhar and lyrics are by Anvita Dutt Guptan.
